Process Chain MD and lead consultant Richard Dobson is systematically improving business efficiency – one organisation at a time! He has worked across multiple sectors, identifying performance issues and implementing solutions. As management consultant, trainer and mentor he has devoted himself to applying measurable improvements through practical solutions.

Prior to forming Process Chain in 2003, RD had previously worked for several large companies and consultancy practices. Working to achieve visible results at the sharp end of big business, Richard has:

• Directed day-to-day logistics operations comprising over 200 staff and an annual budget of £14m
• Realised annual cost savings of £3m
• Consistently achieved 98% customer service level improvements
• Project managed the development and implementation (across Europe and the USA) of a customer service software application for a leading FMCG company
• Headed a pan-European consultancy assignment for a blue chip organisation to reduce inventory levels whilst maintaining customer focus

As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (and former Chairman of the Institute’s Manufacturing Logistics Forum), Richard is often sought out by logistics companies to help with their productivity improvements. But his experience extends into healthcare and pharmaceutical, food and drink, manufacturing, retail, service and the public sector. Richard is also a Fellow of the Institute of Operations Management, and a Member of the Institute of Management Consultancy.

Richard holds a BA (Hons) in Decision Making and Organisational Management and a Post Graduate Diploma in Systems Practice. He is a Six Sigma black belt; a Prince2 Project Manager accredited practitioner and has a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in National Road Haulage. Richard’s IT experience includes: MAAPICS II MRP Manufacturing Software; LS/400 Manufacturing & Distribution Software; CONTROL:M ERP Software, all supplemented by a comprehensive range of Microsoft Applications

The Process Chain team is enhanced by our expert associates, Sarah Ward and Sally Watton, who help individuals and organisations to unlock the potential of their people.
