Here are two examples of process improvements. Of course they are both just simple demonstrations but they both follow the same methodology of process mapping, analysis of the ‘7 wastes’, and development of appropriate solutions.

Click on this box to see a very simple order picking operation. The purpose is to demonstrate that inefficiencies within a warehouse, brought about by a change in customer demand, can be reduced. This will show how the production output can be increased whilst reducing operating costs through process mapping the ‘as-is’ to identify the presence of the ‘7 wastes’, and the subsequent development of the ‘to-be’ process with increased levels of added-value.
