Before and after the move

A. David & Co Ltd is a supplier of fresh produce to the catering industry. We were incorporated in 1961 and worked from the Bristol Wholesale Fruit Market until we moved in to a state of the art premises in September 2005.
When we bought the new facility we realised that we needed some professional help to make the move as efficient and effective as possible. Richard Dobson contacted us in 2003 with a view to helping us with our flow process and operational practices. It quickly became apparent that Richard was the ideal person to work with us. He not only had the technical experience and expertise but also had the ability to be flexible as we were still trying to run our business whilst project managing the new distribution warehouse.
Richard made an enormous difference to our business in the 2 years that we have worked together. He is 100% professional, but able also to join with us in having a laugh to make the working environment a better place to be.
There are many things that Richard has taught us along the journey together, things such as the laws of Pareto and how to turn an empty warehouse space in to an efficient storage and picking system area. We have, in the last few years, more than doubled the company’s turnover, and it would definitely not have been possible without the expert assistance of Richard.
Once the New Year arrives we have many more Transport and Logistics projects that we must undertake. You can be assured we would never consider embarking upon any of them without having Richard on board to guide us and help us in making the right decisions.
All too often consultancy can be seen as an unnecessary expense but in the case of A. David & Co Ltd it was, in the form of Richard Dobson, an absolute god send.
