Transport Policy Review

Situation

A food service company needed us to undertake a financial and operational review of its commercial fleet.  We began by analysing any existing and potential vehicle routes to establish the appropriate size and type of vehicle required. Then we investigated the current and projected direct and indirect costs of the transport operation in-line with their business plan

As a result of this work, it was established that the current purchase and in-house maintenance of the fleet should be replaced by contract hire. This gave numerous benefits:

- off-balance sheet financing
- reduced variable costs
- improved preventative maintenance
- appropriate vehicles to suit the needs of the business
